Oldest Cognac Certified by Guinness World Records
A remarkable bottle of cognac, produced in the year 1696 by Jules Robin and Company, has recently been certified by Guinness World Records as the oldest cognac in existence.
The cognac is housed in an extraordinarily beautiful bottle, showcasing both the quality of the glass and the precise craftsmanship.
The bottle is made of cut lead crystal glass, set in a gold mount, with the name of the cognac producer, “Jules Robin,” and the vintage year, “1696,” elegantly integrated into the mount.
This exquisite bottle is accompanied by a green natural stone base featuring intricate text and gilded letters, an engraved drinking glass, and a glass dome, creating an impressive and luxurious ensemble.
In the 1880s, the cognac was bottled in this opulent packaging and gifted by the producer to Mr. Edmond Jaulin, one of the co-founders of the Jules Robin brand.
The bottle eventually found its way into a private collection in France during the 1950s, where it remained until the beginning of this century before once again becoming a prized possession in another collection.
In 2018, the bottle was rediscovered and acquired by its current owner for an undisclosed amount.
